After I received my AST I loaded over 1500 pounds of motorcycles (R1200 GS and Honda Varadero plus spare gas & bicycles) on it and towed it from south eastern British Columbia, 3400 miles up the Alaska Highway to the Yukon and back. The road is by and large, quite wonderful, with good pavement, but winter is hard on it with linked potholes abound in places.
Two months later, I drove down the Stewart Classier Highway at dusk, in a raging thunderstorm, on 80 miles of three-four inch deep, freshly laid very wet gravel. Thank goodness for the rock shield! What was most impressive was the independent suspension, for no matter the terrain, the bikes never wavered side to side in the least. The trailer towed wonderfully through the deep gravel when I was most worried, as it was mushy, with beckoning ditches on each side of the narrow two lane road.
Throughout my trip, I had to constantly look in my rear-view mirror to ensure that trailer and motorcycles were still there, as there was no noticeable trailer drag. Your brochure brags about the lack of impact on one’s gas mileage and I will certainly attest to that claim.
While it was parked at a friend’s in Whitehorse, off his driveway no less... a gravel truck driver, while dropping a load of gravel on his driveway, drove over the tongue, (I need different friends obviously!) munching the crank down wheel and trailer ball hook up...the fact that the tongue could be so easily removed ensured an easy fix, as I disassembled it in five minutes and took it to a steel fabricating shop!
Two months later I hauled my R1200 GS and Suzuki DRZ on another 2200 mile road trip to Escalante and back. This time with no camper on my truck, I would forget the trailer was on the back and travel the “I roads” at 75 mph with not even a jiggle to suggest I should slow down and protect my cargo. The ease of loading and unloading is a dream. The hard part was keeping the drool off my trailer, as other bikers would see the easy tie downs and roll-on roll-off capabilities. Unfortunately I have now become the target of numerous requests to borrow my AST-2 and so I was wondering if I could get from you a “weld on” copy of your “logo and website” to put on it, so they can contact you directly for one of their own!
I sold my old snow machine trailer by the way, and remove the wheel chocks and very easily load and unload my snow machine!
Oh yes I almost forgot, I hauled a 1000 pounds worth of Honda Gold Wing 1000 miles in October with nary a wiggle...so that’s 6600 miles of towing experience in only 5 months!
Thanks again Jim for a beautifully made product and please feel free to use any bit of this testimonial that makes sense. I am also happy to correspond with anyone who wants details of how to import one into Canada and my very favourable experiences in dealing with you personally.

After researching many choices of trailers to haul my Harley on I located and purchased one of Adventure Sports Products Air Lowering and Air Ride trailers in 2008. I used this trailer to haul my Harley for almost three years, then decided to purchase a Can Am Spyder as I am getting to the age that I felt it would be more enjoyable to ride a trike than a motorcycle like in my younger days.
This trailer is absolutely incredible as it makes loading your bike so easy that I can’t imagine anyone even considering any other trailer that requires ramps to load your bike. It allowed me to load my bike by myself and not locate several others to assist me in pushing my bike up a ramp as required by other trailers on the market. It gave me the freedom to go where I wanted when I wanted and not be concerned about finding others to help me load or unload my bike.
The other feature I really like about this product is the way it pulls behind my tow vehicle as what they say in their literature, “That you can’t even tell it’s behind you” is absolutely true.
Then in August of 2011 I was involved in a broad side accident that hit my new pickup and my AST trailer totaling both of them and flipping my Spyder off the AST trailer and incurring over $9,000 of damage to it. My pickup and Spyder were covered by my insurance so I was able to purchase another pickup and had my Spyder rebuilt. I called Air Ride Corporation the new manufacturer of the AST trailers and discussed this with them as I needed a new trailer.
They were kind enough to make me a special discount as my trailer was not covered on my vehicle insurance policy, a mistake that I wouldn’t make again. I received the new trailer which now is shipped standing upright on a semi bed to greatly reduce the shipping cost. I had it unloaded and assembled it which again was very simple as advertized. I headed for Mew Mexico where my Spyder had been rebuilt, loaded it up and made a rapid return to Oklahoma.
This new model of AST has many great improvements on an already super product, I won’t tell you how fast I pulled it at times on some deserted highways coming back from New Mexico, I think I could pull it as fast as my pickup will go without even knowing it is there. The other amazing thing is that this trailer with my Spyder on board only reduces my fuel mileage by about 1 ½ to 2 mpg. I wouldn’t even think about purchasing any other trailer and would recommend this product to anyone considering hauling any type of power sports toy.

I have a Stallion trike which is quite large and heavy and have been researching suitable trailers to haul it for months. I made many calls to various motorcycle dealers across the country who sent me literature on many trailer choices they had available. None were what I was looking for as most were difficult to load utilizing loading ramps, industrial looking and heavy.
I wanted to pull it with my SUV so weight was a primary consideration. Searching on the web, I finally found a winner! Having looked at many other hauling trailers for my Stallion motorcycle I felt that this trailer would fit my needs best. I was looking for a unique style, in addition to some type of a tilt bed, for loading purposes. This trailer looked like it would really satisfy both needs.
When I ran across their website and discovered that the company was located less than 100 miles away, I drove to Denver met with the owner, toured their manufacturing facilities and viewed the products under construction.
He also explained the reasoning behind the product design and the selection of the components used in the design of these unique trailers. I was totally impressed with the quality of all aspects of the product. I ordered one on the spot as this is far from a typical hauling trailer … it is first class all the way!
The biggest advantage is the ease of loading. The deck lowers to the ground and I can just drive my trike right on. The heavy duty retractable tie down straps are well placed to allow ease of securing the motorcycle. Once loaded, I flip a switch and the built in compressor raises it to the designated/constant level.
It has air ride independent suspension and really pulls great behind our SUV. While driving and watching it trail in the rear view mirror, it appears to ‘float’ when it encounters bumps.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone wishing to haul any type of power sports toy.

This is the "update" from my Milwaukee trip, first let me say that the trailer performed admirably. Everything on it worked "as advertised". All lights on the AST 1 worked perfectly first time around and ever since. Big item !!!
Coming back from Milwaukee I ran into "love bugs" in MS. The front of my car was a mess but there was not one bug on the trailer. It seems almost impossible but it's true. I'm sure that means the trailer rides in the slip stream of the car and the shape of the rock shield has little to do with wind resistance.
I will also tell you that I cleaned my bike before my trip up to Milwaukee and when I got there it was just as clean as when I left. The only exception was the mirrors that had picked up a few bugs. No big item. The same was true on my trip back except I left the windshield on and it also picked up a few.
The above is important for the obvious reasons but should be of particular interest to people in the north. Well at the time, I didn't fully understand the significance of my trip up and back through "love bug" country. If a trailer doesn't pick up "love bugs" it's not going to pick up salt either. I rode on some wet roads on the way up, just missing most of the rain, and as I said, my bike was still clean when I got there. The design of the AST would almost certainly keep salt off the bike as well.
A great feature is visibility. I can see traffic behind me in my rear view mirror. Someone approaches, wants to pass, whatever, it's not a surprise. And the trailer is so narrow that it follows directly in my path. No matter how narrow an opening I drive through, if I can get through it the trailer follows with no problem. The same is true in turning corners, etc., the trailer just stays in the middle of my path. I have perfect vision in both side view mirrors as well. With a stretch I can barely see the sides of the trailer with the side view mirrors, which is ideal. Super easy to pull. Again, I was used to the "Eagle and had no rear visibility and very limited use of my side view mirrors because of the width of the trailer. I always had to take wide turns and be careful that the trailer was going to make it. I'm sure that's a problem with most enclosed trailers and many flat beds.
This trailer certainly has all the advantages over any of the other trailers that I have owned over the years.

I am the Advertizing Manager for the Antique Motorcycle Club of America and received a call this summer from Jim stating that their company was introducing a new enclosed motorcycle hauling trailer called the Aero Pod and that they wanted to run an ad in our magazine. He forwarded me the information on this new product and we ran the ad, however I was so taken by the design of this unique new trailer that I just had to order one. I ordered one of the first units, actually before it went into production as they were still finishing the molds.
It took longer than I expected to actually receive the trailer as Jim said they didn’t want to ship it until everything was sorted out and just right. I must admit that several times I doubted if it was worth the wait. Finally Jim called and said that they had everything sorted out and it was ready to ship. I really wanted to take one of my antique bikes to the big classic bike rally and wanted to take it in this new trailer. So I decided to drive to Colorado to pick up this new unit.
Now it’s over 1,100 miles from Tennessee to their factory in Colorado but we made a beeline to get there. I have a new Chevy Suburban with a V8 that switches from eight cylinder operation to four cylinder operation. I kept track of my mileage going to Colorado and returning with the new trailer. When we got there and saw this new trailer I knew I made the correct decision as it is the most streamlined and beautiful trailer I have ever seen in my life. Now I have owned I don’t know how many trailers in my life to carry my bikes and I can’t even remember how many bikes I have owned over the 35 years I have been riding and collecting motorcycles.
Jim demonstrated how the trailer bed lowers to the ground with the flip of a switch and flipping the hardtop switch magically raises the hardtop to the load position, it was breath taking just to watch how smoothly it operated. We were in a hurry to return as the big rally was just days away. I remember asking Jim if it was going to pull OK empty as I have owned many trailers over the years and if you have pulled them you know what I mean as they tend to bounce around going down the road empty. Jim assured me again that I wouldn’t even know it was behind me, I must admit that I felt that this was an overstatement based upon my past experience with many trailers.
So we hit the road and we were shocked to actually learn that we couldn’t even tell it was behind us, I even felt guilty for doubting what Jim said. I ran all the 1,100 miles at full freeway speed. Of all the trailers I have owned there is nothing close to this new unit, as the air ride suspension automatically adjusts the air ride to the load on the trailer, empty it only weights about 600 pounds and has a very soft spring rate when empty. I might point out that this trailer does not ride on springs like any other trailer and has a shock absorbing ride of smoothness heretofore not offered in any trailer, my other trailers would even rattle bolts loose on my bikes going down the road.
My second shocker came when I recorded the gas mileage I was getting pulling this trailer. My enclosed box type trailer, which I sold just before this trip reduced my gas mileage about 6 to 7 miles per gallon, I was amazed to find that this new trailer only reduced my mileage by about 1 ½ miles per gallon. So Jim’s statement about it will pay for itself every mile down the road is also true.
When we got back to Tennessee we loaded up my antique Harley in the attached photos and headed to the rally, you wouldn’t believe the response this new trailer received at the rally. I can’t believe how easy it is to load and unload my bikes in this unit, a friend even offer to hold my bike upright while I tied it down and I told him he didn’t have to, as the Capture Wheel Chock holds it up just fine for true one person loading.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is considering purchasing an enclosed motorcycle trailer.
